- Offering flexible workspaces and workshop spaces for the city, with a recognizable mix of activities
- Expanding opening days by additionally opening on Mondays or Saturdays
Job Description
As Community Coordinator, you are the central driving force of the space. You ensure that the café and activities run smoothly and safely, guide volunteers, support participants, and contribute to the further development of Blend as an inclusive, vibrant, and recognizable third place — both internally and externally.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinating and supporting team coaches, with attention to a safe, welcoming, and personal culture
- Safeguarding continuity in volunteers and culture, ensuring rhythm, core values, and identity are maintained, even during expansion or external pressures
- Initiating and programming workshops and activities for participants
- Acting as the primary point of contact for participants, volunteers, and partners
- Facilitating flexible workspaces and workshop spaces for the city, including hosting connection moments for participants, professionals, and partners
- Maintaining and strengthening collaborations with local social organizations and partners
- Supporting fundraising efforts and grant applications to strengthen Blend’s financial continuity
- Contributing ideas to the ongoing development of the space so it continues to grow as an accessible, inspiring, and people-centered environment
- Identifying and responding to opportunities for operational expansion
We Are Looking For:
- Experience in project or team management; experience with volunteer coordination is a plus
- Affinity with young adults and social impact initiatives
- Ability to create a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment
- Creativity in developing activities and building partnerships
- Independent, proactive, and a strong team player
- Knowledge of social organizations and networks in Amsterdam is a plus
- Strong awareness of safeguarding core values, rhythm, and identity of the space
- Blend operates as a bilingual workplace. A good command of both Dutch and English is required for this role.
We Offer:
- A meaningful role within a socially impactful project
- Flexible working hours and room for personal initiative
- Competitive (freelance) hourly rate of €35
- The opportunity to create tangible impact through flexible work and workshop spaces for the city
- Collaboration with an enthusiastic team of volunteers and professionals
- A bridging role between participants, volunteers, and partners, with direct impact in the city
